Touchtone Corporation Releases Wintouch® for IBM® WebSphere®
Costa Mesa, CA – April 30, 2004 – Touchtone Corporation, a leading developer of native OS/400 software for the IBM iSeries – AS/400 announced the release of Wintouch for WebSphere, a portlet application using IBM WebSphere Portal Server. Wintouch for Websphere is optimized for IBM's newly announced i5/OS™ V5R3.
The strategic advantage of Wintouch for WebSphere is its accessibility by PDAs and cell phones that are web-enabled. With Wintouch for WebSphere field sales reps have immediate access to iSeries data and an enterprise-wide view of every customer plus the ability to enter orders, check credit status and track shipping from the field.
The initial launch of Wintouch for WebSphere includes six portlets: a Wintouch menu, an Account Summary portlet, a Contact Summary portlet, a Search portlet (for Accounts or Contacts,) a Search Results portlet, and an Activities portlet or “To Do” list viewable by day, week or month for every Wintouch user. Wintouch server software runs on the IBM iSeries and the WebSphere middleware can reside on an iSeries OS/400 or on Linux. Front-end access to WebSphere is via any web browser, even a PDA or cell phone with an Internet connection.
